Dark Chocolates for hair growth:
Description: New studies suggest that the health benefits of chocolate might make it more than just a satisfying treat. Researchers have isolated powerful disease fighting substances in chocolate, with some early studies showing that certain kinds of chocolate may help lower blood pressure and stave off heart disease. Before you call chocolate ahealth food however, learn more about this research and what is may mean for your sweet tooth.
The beans of the cocoa plant are extremely rich in flavonoids, says Carl Keen, Ph.D., a nutrition professor at the university of California, who has done extensive research on chocolate. Flavonoids are potent plant antioxidants and for years scientists have said that antioxidants can exert a positive influence on health by neutralizing damaging free radicals, substance believed to advance aging and promote diseases.
One German study, for example, found that eating dark chocolate high in flavonoids may reduce blood pressure. Flavanoids increase nitric acid production that helps I’m controlling insulin sensitivity and hence might be beneficial to people with irregular blood sugar levels.
Dark chocolate is also believed to aid in stress relief, improve performance and alertness in the short term,
However, anything taken in moderation is beneficial, too much of anything can have a negative impact on your health.
We are bringing to you the benefits of dark chocolate together with the goodness of other nutritious foods such as flaxseed, sunflower seeds, honey, oats, etc. Our chocolates will not only cater to your sweet tooth but more importantly bring you the health benefits of the aforesaid ingredients.
Ingredients List: oats, flaxseed, Almonds, Spinach, Dark Chocolate(Cocoa+No sugar), sunflower, pumpkin and chiaseeds.
Aroma Essentials is a brand that needs no introduction in the natural skincare category. It is one of the raved about brands known for it’s simplicity, efficiency & affordability. It’s great that they are emphasizing the fact that skin and hair issues should be treated from inside out and have accordingly come up with their new smoothie & hair food chocolate range. Read on to know my take on the same:
Packaging: The smoothie powder comes in a plastic tub and the chocolates in an organza pouch, each wrapped in an aluminium foil. The products are intact and can be used and stored in the same.
Color & Texture: The smoothie powder is light brown in colour and looks like a ubtan except that it’s grains aren’t finely powdered whereas the chocolates are dark brown and come in cute different shapes.
Aroma: The smoothie powder has a nutty fragrance with a hint of dried fruits too. The chocolate smells lovely like a dark chocolate. Both aromas are subtle & pleasant and aren’t pungent or overpowering.
Flavour: The smoothie has a natural subtle sweetness and the chocolate tastes yummy as it should.
Ingredients: The above mentioned is the ingredients list. The smoothie & chocolates have a shelf life of 3 months and the brand claims to be free of any additives like preservatives & colors in their edible range which seems believable.
Smoothie for Skin & Hair – The fruits and vegetables in the ingredients list namely tomato, spinach, orange, beetroot, moringa, banana, pineapple, strawberry, mango, carrot & papaya are rich in vitamins, fibers, antioxidants, potassium, magnesium and many other nutrients that promotes skin health as they fight acne, rashes, pigmentation, darkspots, blemishes, inflammation, provide sun protection, pollutants, free radicals, enhance hydrated radiant skin and have anti-aging properties. They also promote hair health by preventing hair loss, promoting thicker hair growth and is good for dandruff & scalp inflammatory conditions.
Hair food Chocolate – oats contain high amounts of zinc, iron, magnesium and potassium that promote hair growth; flaxseeds are packed with nutrients like protein, calcium, zinc, magnesium, iron and omega 3 fatty acids, which are required for the growth of hair and will make it healthy. vibrant and strong; Almonds are high in magnesium, loaded with vitamins & nutrients. Spinach is a healthy green full of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals and is a good source of vitamins A, B2, C and K, magnesium, manganese, folate, iron, calcium and potassium. Dark Chocolate(cocoa with no sugar) has copper, zinc and iron are minerals that promote the cell renewal growth process. So it is said that eating dark chocolate everyday may increase oxygen and blood flow to the scalp and lead to healthier and strong hair. Sunflower, pumpkin and chiaseeds help delay in graying and promote hair growth.
Smoothie- I prefer taking it with yogurt in the evening. Also, It is adviced to take only one spoon per day. Taking excess isn’t adviceable as it may either go waste or cause adverse effects. It tastes sweet and reasonably good enough to drink even without jaggery or honey. Vegans can take it with water. It is filling enough and I follow with a light dinner 2 hours later, as always.
Hair Food Chocolate- It tastes yummy and can be an impressive gift for anyone obsessed with skin & hair care. I take 1 or 2 pieces per day which is the optimum quantity. It can also be taken along with the smoothie. The flavours get along really well.
It is difficult to comment on the efficiency part as the ones sent to me were sample sizes and I used them for around 10 days, which is too short a time to experience any notable results in skin and hair, especially when it comes to food products but given the list of ingredients and their properties, the product seems to be a promising one in terms of efficiency.
When it comes to food, there are two Important things to understand:
- Consuming fruits, vegetables & nuts as nature gives it(raw & fresh) is the best way to capitalise it’s fullest benefits. However, this is the next better option for those with time constraints, lack of availibility of resources, etc.
- It is critical to understand that these are not miracle products that can solely help in achieving a perfect skin & hair as misunderstood by many. They sure are effective and accelerate the process but can never compensate for an unhealthy diet.
The right approach is always about striking a balance.
- Desirable taste
- Easy preparation
- No additives
- No preservatives
- No added sugar
- nutrient rich
- health & skin benefits
- the chocolate used is cocoa and not cacao
My Verdict: With the current lifestyle, lack of availability of authentic resources & time constraints, this product will come handy as the second best option.
