Description:

VANA’s Rainforest Luxuries Face Wash is a luxe blend of Wild Harvests of Ylang Ylang, Neroli and Nutmeg. Ylang Ylang plant certainly has a broad variety of benefits and uses, from medicinal to romantic. The blooms of the this tree were scattered over the beds of newly wed couples in Indonesia, as the plant’s aroma is said to have a calming and euphoric effect. It beautifully promotes emotional wellness and is indeed restorative. Alongside possessing immense aromatherapy benefits, the oil of it is also a commendable antiseptic, a stimulant to the skin that balances oil production, with it’s promise of clearer and healthier skin. The bliss gets even more blissful with the precious Neroli blended in our wash. Did you know that it takes at least 1,000 pounds of Orange blossom flowers, from the bitter Orange tree, just to make one pound of Neroli oil? No wonder it’s the most expensive among citrus essential oils. This oil actually offers many impressive benefits and has been used as far back as the 17th century, when Italian aristocrats discovered it’s skin rejuvenating abilities : It improves skin’s flexibility, combats acne and is best known for its soothing and skin regenerating effect on even the most environmentally stressed complexions. It is also rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, supports collagen production, smoothes skin, and helps combat dullness while imparting a healthy glow. The cytophylactic effects of Neroli help maintain the health of skin cells and promote the growth of new ones. This keeps the skin’s elasticity, allowing it to remain supple while reducing unsightly lines and wrinkles, toning and tightening the skin and balancing sebum. For a flawless finish, Ylang Ylang and Neroli are combined with Nutmeg, a seed that comes from the same tree that makes Mace. The same reasons that make Nutmeg super healthy for consumption, make this a model constituent in skincare too. It’s anti-inflammatory properties will help reduce the sight of pimples, while it’s stimulating properties will certainly wake up dead skin cells and help those unpleasant and visible lines fade. Nutmeg is known to have curative properties and is also known in Ayurvedic medicine for its antiviral and antibacterial elements that decrease the likelihood of infections and clogged pores.

My Experience:

Vana Vidhi is positioned as one of the high end natural brands & claims to be free from sulphates, synthetic colors &  fragrances. With these basic guarantees being assured & fallen for the term ‘Rainforest Luxuries’ which is synonymous with the brand name, I decided to try their facewash. Read on to know my inference of this product:

Packaging: It comes in a statement box that signifies every bit luxury that is perfect for premium gifting options. Inside is a transparent bottle with a golden screw cap with the product. It has a stopper, so is travel friendly. The label is color coded with royal tones of green & gold that leaves an impact.

Texture: It has a luxurious texture of a watery gel that is light golden in colour.  With the amount I required per usage for face & neck,..when used twice a day, this 100ml should last for 45 days.

Fragrance: The brand claims none of its products have added synthetic fragrance. This fragrance has top note of Ylang Ylang & bottom note of Neroli & nutmeg(tats wat my doggy nose guessed). Luxury products like these are deisgned with aromatherapy benefits. The fragrance is stress reducing & calming down without overpowering.

Efficiency: It is a very delicate cleanser, that is gentle on the skin & creates a mild lather. Doesn’t irritate eyes. It cleanses thorough enough to remove all make up, dirt and controls excess oil. Hence suits oily skin types better. May be drying for other skintypes(if U don mind & wanna try, do it in Summer). Soothes acne/pimples a little. Used it for a month & dint notice any breakouts due to this.

Pros:

  • Aromatherapy benefits
  • sulphate & paraben free
  • no added synthetic color & fragrance

Cons:

  • Has phenoxyethanol(moderately hazardous preservative)
  • expensive

My Verdict: A gentle luxurious cleanser that does justice to it’s assigned job. If U are a luxury products addict  & wanna splurge, go ahead!
