Description: Tvakh’s Sun protection gel is a physical sunscreen that is designed with SPF infused mineral powders that scatters and reflects UVA and UVB rays, preventing them from reaching the surface of the skin. Enhanced with Beta Glucan enriched Colloidal Oatmeal that provides water resistant, UV absorbent, anti-inflammatory and emollient properties to the formula. Optimized as a weightless tinted mousse that leaves a shear matte finish, minimizes appearance of pores and guards the skin with multiple action of antioxidant rich Carrot seed oil. Therefore promoting skin radiance, clarity and resilience.
Directions: Use liberally after antioxidant cream/serum for protection from UV and Free radicals. Works as a primer to refine and minimize the appearance of pores.
I reached to this product on an earnest attempt to replace my Mac Prep & Prime BB cream with one free of harsh chemicals that gives a decent coverage to my acne scars & blemishes along with sun protection. Read on to know how it faired…
Packaging: It comes in a transparent bottle with a pump dispenser. The quality of the bottle isn’t that good. Also not mentioned anywhere about if it is biodegradable or not. The pump dispenses desirable amount of product per usage. After 10-15 uses, the pump stopped working properly & I had to transfer it to a tub 4 use.
Texture: It is a slightly lotion like mousse. With little work, blends really well and is light on the skin. I liked the formula. I checked with their consultant & found tat it has an spf 15, so U will have to reapply every 3 hours atleast. This 100 ml bottle may last for 2 months.
Fragrance: It smells strong & pleasant. Felt like smelling an attar. It is mentioned in ingredients about added ‘parfum’. I donot prefer added fragrances. Fragrances from essential oils or ingredients are ideal for a natural product.
Ingredients Analysis: Firstly, happy that the full ingredients are listed on the label. The UV filters used are zinc oxide(naturally occurring minerals) & carrot seed oil, which is also rich in antioxidants & helps in skin rejuvenation. Most of the other ingredients are also impressive. The only two botherations are triethanolamine & parfum that are said to be moderately toxic.
Efficiency: This is a physical sunscreen that also works as a primer. It gives a decent coverage of ur minor scars & blemishes. Instantly illuminates your face to give a sheer matte finish. It is not stretchy or drying so will suit all skin types. But this moisturisation will not suffice dry skin beauties. It leaves a white cast👎 on dusky to brown skin tones. I understand that White cast is to be expected from a mineral sunscreen, Just that this is not a subtle one & more obvious on brown skin tones. This tint works great for pale to lighter skin tones, so I had to give it off to my mom & she loves it. It would be great if tvakh comes up with tints that suit dusky to brown skin tones too because it is such a nice formula. I also wish the spf factor was higher(atleast 30 for a better protection) cos 15 is too low.
- Decent coverage
- Tranparent ingredient list
- Free of Sulphates, pthalates, GMO, mineral oils, etc
- matte finish
- low spf
- whitecast on dusky-dark tones
- packaging quality
- added fragrance
My Verdict: It is a very good product & U can ditch a few products by using this single product for an everyday blemish free no make up look. The only con is tends to leave a white cast in dusky-brown tones!
